On Wednesday night’s X Factor, a wavy-haired “burrito slinger” turned Simon from skeptic to fan in about 5 notes of “At Last.” Josh Krajcik’s sultry, soulful voice and dynamic stage presence were probably the highlight of a very enjoyable episode of the Factor. So naturally we wanted to learn more about him. Here’s what we found out!

He’s a dad! In a 2007 interview, he talked about spending time with his daughter when he’s in Columbus (as opposed to being on the road playing music). Aw, there’s something cute about a rock and roll daddy, isn’t there?

Along with singing, Josh also plays guitar and piano. Although most of the links are currently dead (thanks for ruining our Internet-stalking swag, FOX!), the website for joshkrajcikband.com has the info up for the band’s 2010 release Atavistic, and lists Josh as playing both instruments on the album. Sadly, the album isn’t available on iTunes (of course we checked), but we did find an album preview on YouTube!

His music’s a little bit dark! Although he chose the joyful “At Last” for his audition, Josh’s originals seem to have much more of an edge. “It’s like I’m purging this sort of dark anger,” he told Columbus Alive. Check him out performing “Atavistic,” a rock-flavored piano ballad, in at a show in May.
