At a mere 30 years young, gentle Josh Krajcik is the oldest remaining contestant. He recently told the official X Factor USA page he thought that by his age he would have “made it by now.” It was the prompting of his friends that convinced him to give the Factor competition a shot, and now look at him, anchoring the Top 4.
His maturity has served him well; we’ve never seen him in the Final Two, and he’s recovered from dicey performances (“Dirty Diana”) with blockbuster comebacks (“Something”). When asked his favorite performance, he smiled: “My happiest moment was after I sang ‘Wild Horses.’ It was just really good for me, cause that’s what I do.”
With the sudden departure of most of the youth movement (Astro, Drew, Rachel), maybe we’ll find out it takes a few dozen extra winters lived through to get to the point where you can win this thing.
Some of the spring chickens, 18-year-old Melanie Amaro chief among them, might have other ideas, though. We’re hooked to the end!
