WOOSTER — As the community continues to realize just how far Wooster native Josh Krajcik has come since his days of playing gigs in his hometown, the widespread support of his fans lingers on.
Followers of the Krajcik Magic now have a way to get their feelings to him, thanks to the Wooster Recreation Department and U.S. Postal Service letter carrier, Sharon Tylka.
On the square in downtown Wooster — right next to the gazebo — stands a purple mailbox, all decked out with Krajcik photos. Fans of “The X Factor” runner-up are encouraged to drop in their letters to him, postage free, and Tylka will make sure they get to him, wherever he ends up being.
“I just came up with it (the mailbox idea) one day at work,” said Tylka, who delivers mail to Krajcik’s dad and grandma. I thought there had to be an easy way to get him fan mail.”
Fans are encouraged to write letters or cards to Krajcik and then put them in an envelope before dropping them into the mailbox. No packages should be included.
Tylka contacted Wooster Mayor Bob Breneman, who referred her to the Recreation Department. Thanks to Recreation Manager Susan Kelley and Recreation Coordinator Ashley Brillhart, the mailbox is brightly decorated so fans can easily find it.
“I think it’s our way of giving back to Josh,” Kelley said. “We’re so proud of him and he’s done so much for Wooster. If we can do just this one thing for him, I think that’s fantastic.”
Brillhart said she decided to decorate the mailbox purple because of Krajcik being a Triway graduate.
“Wooster and Triway have a rivalry but it was neat to see both communities coming together to support Josh,” Brillhart said.
The mailbox will be located on the square for the forseeable future, Brillhart said.

I think the mailbox idea is a great one. The only problem is what do the fans who don’t live in Wooster, Ohio or even the state of Ohio send letters. I live in Peoria, AZ and would love to drop a line to Josh. He is a one-man wonder. I loved him and his singing from the very first time I heard him. Is there a PO Box that he has that can be placed in this mail box? Let me know.
IT’S A WIN FOR ALL…
REALLY NICE IDEA…
Wow!!! What an awesome thing to do! Josh certainly deserves all of wonderful things that are happening and will happen for him! He was my absolute favorite singer on X Factor and I have loved him since the first time I heard his beautiful voice!!!
Great idea! Unforunately I don’t live anywhere near Ohio. I live in RI. So could someone from Wooster please drop a post card in the box for me telling Josh I am a HUGE fan and I am waiting to buy his first (and every) CD? THANKS!!Jeanne Sadler, Coventry, RI
