While this is news that just about all of us assumed at this point, it has now been made official — the contestants from this past season of “The X Factor” here in America will not be embarking on any sort of tour.
Speaking to Columbus Alive, Josh Krajcik (who was this season’s runner-up) said that the decision was amde by Simon Cowell not to have a tour for this first season — and he doesn’t seem to be particularly upset about it:
“There was talk of it. It’s been taken off the table. I’m glad, because I didn’t want to do that. I’m ready to get to work on my career.”
As for the reason behind not having a tour, it seems to be relatively simple — the contestants aren’t that well-known. The ratings between “The X Factor” and “The Voice” aren’t that far apart, and “The Voice” tour failed to really get much attention at all.
